This is one of the most coveted hip-hop 12″s of the 2010s and it comes down to simple math: two songs, 600 copies, never to be repressed. WestSide Doom was released November 13, 2017 on Daupe! and Griselda Records — the UK tape/vinyl imprint run by Westside Gunn and Conway the Machine’s Griselda ecosystem, distributed through Daupe. Two tracks produced by The Alchemist and Daringer respectively, with Westside Gunn and MF DOOM trading bars over exactly the kind of murky, crate-dug production both artists built their reputations on. DOOM passed away on October 31, 2020; his death wasn’t announced until New Year’s Eve that year, and the already-scarce Griselda and Daupe collaborations immediately became among the most aggressively traded records in the underground market.
The pressing breakdown on this release: 600 copies on black vinyl (the listing), 300 on yellow virgin vinyl, 300 on picture disc, and later a Daupe obi-strip edition limited to 500.
