The Necros are one of American hardcore’s great underdog stories — a band from Maumee, Ohio who somehow managed to be the very first act ever recorded by Touch and Go Records, a label that would go on to become one of the most important independent imprints of the era. By the time this 7″ dropped in 1983, they had already toured with Black Flag, Bad Brains, Sonic Youth, Minor Threat, and the Misfits, even filling in on drums at what turned out to be the Misfits’ final show. The single arrived the same year as their debut LP of the same name, and features a different version of the title track from the album — making it a genuinely distinct collector’s object, not just a promo pull. The B-side, “Take ‘Em Up,” written in 1981 but unreleased at the time, was later included as a bonus track on the German LP pressing, making this 7″ its true debut appearance. Pressing of 3,000 copies. To date there has been no authorized reissue of this record, and it is frequently bootlegged — making a clean original with the proper Touch and Go matrix numbers essential. This copy is graded NM vinyl, Excellent sleeve, from a seller with 100% positive feedback and 18 watchers.
