Glassjaw – The Deluxe Playable Collection (Gold Vinyl Box Set + Hardcover Book, Limited to 500) — 30th Anniversary Edition

· 2 min read ·

Glassjaw formed in Long Island, New York in 1993, and spent the next three decades becoming one of the most revered and obsessed-over bands in post-hardcore — a cult that never really dimmed, even through the band’s long silences. Daryl Palumbo and Justin Beck built something singular across three full-lengths and two EPs: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence (2000, Roadrunner Records), Worship and Tribute (2002, Warner Bros.), Our Colour Green EP (2011), Coloring Book EP (2011), and Material Control (2017, Metal Blade). All five of those records are inside this box.

Released in November 2023 to commemorate 30 years of the band, The Deluxe Playable Collection was a co-production between BrooklynVegan and Revolver — exclusively sold through their shops — and is the most premium configuration of a tiered anniversary release that also included black vinyl and white vinyl standard editions (each limited to 1,993 copies). The Deluxe is a different category entirely: all five records newly pressed on gold vinyl, each in its own jacket, housed in a numbered heavy-duty textured slipcase, paired with the gold hardcover edition of the 88-page, 12″x12″ book. The book is an oral and visual history built around 1993 New York — archival photos of the city and the band, interviews with Walter Schreifels (Quicksand), Gavin Van Vlack (Burn), Tommy Corrigan (Silent Majority), Don Fury, and others from the scene that shaped Glassjaw, plus rarely seen artifacts including the original Kiss Kiss Bang Bang doll and the turntable from the Worship and Tribute cover. Hard limit: 500 copies worldwide, sold out at retail on release.
