Portland’s Poison Idea made their name as the heaviest, most brutally intense band in American hardcore, and Kings of Punk — originally released in 1986 on Pushead’s legendary Pusmort label — is the document that announced them to the world. Front man Jerry A. famously had the band’s name carved into his chest for the album artwork, and the music itself is equally extreme: colossal, mid-paced hardcore that crushes everything in its path. An original 1986 Pusmort pressing in VG+ condition sells for around $150 on the collector market — this sealed TKO reissue is the most faithful and well-packaged alternative available, limited to just 1,000 black vinyl copies and now increasingly hard to find. Only 2 copies remain from this seller, and the first has already sold.
